We ran our tests using the 65” Vizio D-Series TV (D65-F1). However, we are convinced that these settings will also work perfectly for other sizes of this model. They include:

General Settings
Before anything else, you should choose your picture mode. We preferred using “Calibrated Dark” because of its more accurate results. The other picture modes include Standard, Calibrated, Vivid, Game, and Computer.
After this, you should set your backlight to 22. If you find this a little too dim, you can make adjustments based on your room brightness.
Other settings here should be left at their default values, they include:
- Brightness – 50
- Contrast – 50
- Color – 50
- Tint – 0
- Sharpness – 0
For your color temperature, you can go with “Normal.” If the pictures are too dull or yellow for you, then you can pick “Cool” instead.

If you don’t turn this feature on, it is possible that your device will not recognize the HDR capability of the TV.
Always leave your Backlight at the default value of 50 when you want to watch HDR content. This is the most accurate value for the best results. You can adjust the backlight or gamma if the dark scenes seem too dim.
Gaming Settings
When playing games, the only thing you need to adjust is the “Game Low Latency.” The default setting for this feature is “Off.” But for the best results, you should turn it on.
