It is best to begin with the Default settings and then start adjusting as you advance. Adjusting sliders is more of a balancing act. As you adjust one setting, you’ll be making changes to another automatically.

Best FIFA controller Settings
Now that you have adjusted your slider settings, let’s look at the controller settings. After much testing, we believe that these values are the best for playing FIFA 20. It is possible that you may have a few preferences different from ours. Simply make adjustments where necessary.
Controller Settings
- FIFA Trainer – Hide (This is the best for regular players since the visible indicators can be quite annoying. New players may enable this option so that they can grasp the game.)
- Timed Finishing – On (Most pro players use this feature even though there isn’t much difference when it is off.)
- Second Defender Switch Icon – On (This helps you see the next player to switch to. It gives a better understanding of where the game is going.)
- Pass Block Assistance – On (This enables your player to block the path of a pass from the opponent. The game is more efficient at this so it is best to leave it on.)
- Auto Switching – Manual (With this, you need to switch players yourself during gameplay. Once you get used to the game, you’ll understand the immense benefits of doing this.)
- Auto Switching Move Assistance – Low (Gives you more control over your player as you share the responsibility with the AI.)
- Jockey – Manual (When you leave this in Auto, your player changes direction or acts in relation to the opponent. That’ not favorable so it is best to leave it in Manual mode.)
- Right Stick Switching – Player Relative (This is just easier as it leaves you with less work.)
- Pass Assistance – Assisted (You should allow the AI to assist you because doing it manually is very difficult).
- Through Ball Assistance – Assisted
- Shot Assistance – Assisted
- Cross Assistance – Manual (When the AI assists you, it is very difficult to score from a cross. This is why we suggest that you stick to the manual setting.)
- Lob Pass Assistance – Assisted
- Save Assistance – Semi
- Analog Sprint – Off
- Defending – Tactical Defending
- Pass Receiver Lock – Early
